My Autumn Bucket List

My Autumn Bucket List

I can’t believe that Autumn is almost upon us. I’ve spent the most incredible summer around my family. Soaking up time together with both of my boys watching them grow, change and blossom in every way possible. I want to hold on to these moments forever. Put them in a box and never forget them because I know all too soon they’ll be older and I’ll be old, and I won’t get these days forever. I feel like I write this a lot – about cherishing moments and making memories, but I am ever increasingly conscious that time goes way too fast, moments pass and we only get one shot at this life. Anyway, in an attempt to create as many memories and not waste the moments that matter, I have decided to set a bucket list for Autumn.

Autumn is one of my favourite months. I love the change of colours and the leaves falling from the trees. I like the chill in the air and the shorter nights which call for cosy cuddles. I’m a homebody and love nothing much more than fluffy socks and blankets after a woodland walk. I’ve put together a list of things I really want to do this Autumn, and I’m hoping to tick them all off the list.

My Autumn Bucket List

Go, Pumpkin Picking,

There are a few different pumpkin picking farms near us, and we plan on going and picking our very own pumpkins this year. Last year we had just moved to a new house, so we didn’t make it, but this year it is top of my list!

Carve Pumpkins for Halloween

This is a family tradition of ours we always carve pumpkins to display outside on Halloween night.

Have a Halloween Movie Night

I’m a huge horror film fan, so there is no better excuse to snuggle down and watch a scary movie than Halloween. Before the kids go to bed, we always watch a Halloween movie that’s more age-appropriate, our fave is Hocus Pocus!!

Make Pumpkin Spiced Cupcakes

I would absolutely be referred to as ‘basic’, but I LOVE anything that is pumpkin spiced. Lattes, candles and cakes!! I love pumpkin spiced cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, and I cannot wait to make this year!!

Go on a Woodland Walk

As a family, we love getting outside and taking in some fresh air, and that is especially true when the weather is cooler in Autumn. My favourite place to go is the woods where the leaves are shedding, and the browns, oranges and yellows line the paths.

Plan to visit a Firework Display

There is something quite magical about fireworks, and I love the ones that sparkle like glitter in the sky. Last year we didn’t get the chance to see any fireworks o this year it is a must!

Puddle Jump

Kids love jumping in puddles, and I love embracing it! Wellies and puddle suits on it’s time to find some puddles!

Decorate the House for Halloween

Another Halloween tradition for us is decorating the house both inside and out! We started with a few decorations here and there, and our collection of decorations has grown!

Bake an Apple Pie

My favourite thing about Autumn is the cosy comfort food, and I absolutely adore a homemade apple pie!!

Start a New Book

I used to be a big reader and could literally devour a book in a matter of hours, but since Hugo has been born, my time to read has significantly reduced! Now that Hugo is settling into a routine and sleeping more, I have some extra time for self-care and starting a new book is the top of my list!

Collect Conkers

Henry loves to collect conkers of all shapes and sizes, so we can’t wait to go out and collect some this Autumn.

Do you have a bucket list for Autumn? Is there anything I’ve missed off my list that I really should try? I’d love for you to comment below.

Pumpkin picking sounds like a great activity, something I have yet to try – I tend to rely on picking one in the supermarket, but would be great to find a picking field somewhere local! You are far too excited for Autumn! I’ve already dusted off jumpers and am complaining about how cold it is! 😉 Sim x
