Taking Time Out to De-Stress

Do you ever need to take a moment? Give yourself time out to de-stress and recharge. Do you ever have moments where you’ve got to get out. Out of the situation. Away from theTime-out-to-De-Stress-Stitch-fawn-french-bulldog-puppy house. Out of your own head? I feel like I’ve really been giving life my all, or at least trying to. Concentrating on my blog, my YouTube channel, weight loss and my puppy. This is as well as, not instead of everything else I’ve got to do daily. It felt like the walls were closing in and as I would finish one task it was time to begin the next.

I realised I’ve been so focused and absorbed recently I’ve not given myself anytime to stop and just take life in. So as I had this epiphany I closed the lid of my laptop, harnessed up my dogs and headed out the door for a good old recharge.

Taking Time

I always try to give myself time out to de-stress before everything gets too much. It’s important to pause every now and then and just admire the moment and I realised it had been a while since I  had done this. It was bitterly cold outside so I had to wrap up with my big coat and gloves but there was no rain and there was something beautiful about being in the open air. Time-out-to-De-Stress-woods

Admiring nature is absolutely one of my favourite ways to ground myself and relax. I love hearing the birds, seeing how the leaves on the trees change season by season and breathing in that fresh air. It makes me feel alive and completely reset and I am able to get back on with what I need with fresh eyes and a clear mind.

If I can’t get outside I still have ways I like to relax. Some of my favourites are:

  • Sitting down with a good old cup of tea! There isn’t much that can’t be solved or at least made better by a good brew!
  • Soaking in a hot bath!
  • Reading a feel good book.
  • Spending time with my family, completely unplugged with no technology in sight.
  • Playing with my dogs! I think dogs are great listeners, they don’t judge and we can learn a lot from being around them.

A cup of tea, my cat on my lap, my dog at my feet, and a good book to read–That’s my way to relax!
