Schleich Dino Set with Cave Review

Schleich Dino Set with Cave 1

My son Henry adores all things technological, but I do try to encourage as much imaginative play at home as possible. It’s in my opinion essential to nurture that side of them it helps with their school work when they are writing stories or learning about history. Being able to use your imagination can make the most mundane tasks exciting and although I very much agree that technology has a place I would hate for good old-fashioned imaginative play to be lost. Henry’s imagination comes most alive when he is playing with figurines and playsets. Recently he has been playing with the Schleich Dino Set With Cave which has sparked some exciting, imaginative play.

Schleich Dino Set with Cave

We are big fans of Schleich and have a few sets and figurines that Henry enjoys playing with. At the moment he has been playing with the Schleich Dino Set with Cave which has really had him intrigued. The set is aimed at children who are five plus and with Henry being seven it’s a nice set for him. As with all Schleich figures, this set is painted by hand which I feel makes the figures look more realistic which really helps with imaginative play. To add to this the Herrerasaurus has a moveable lower jaw! At school, Henry has been learning all about dinosaurs, and this set has really helped him explore that further.

Having the playset is pretty cool and adds an extra dimension to the dinosaur figurines and has fuelled Henry’s imagination. Henry loved that the front part of the cave transformed into a catapult and if you move the stone column it will bury everything underneath it!

The dinosaur figurines are also perfect for grabbing and taking with us on a day out without the cave!

What Did We Think?

Henry was instantly sold on the playset and has played with it most days on and off without becoming bored. The figurines are a great size for Henry’s hands too. I personally like it from a Mum point of view as it has opened up the conversation about dinosaurs and Henry loves telling me everything he already knows and is asking more and more questions which are really furthering his knowledge and learning. I also think that as with all Schleich toys it is well made and can easily withstand some serious play!

The playset is priced at £44.99 which at first seems quite high however I have to admit you really are paying for the quality and this is undoubtedly a playset that is built to last.
