Slissie : A Weight Loss Aid but Does it Work?

Slissie

Eating Habits

I’ve written in the past about my weight journey and how my issues surrounding food are very much habits formed and psychological. I often don’t eat because I feel hungry I eat on the back of my feelings and out of pure habit alone. The problem with this is it doesn’t matter what ‘diet’ you go on or how full you make yourself with good foods you need to break the habits to succeed. Well that is easier said than done believe me! That’s where Slissie comes in.

Slissie – What is it?

The Slissie is a handy device about the size of a tube of mascara which makes it easy to conceal in the palm of your hand and carry with you wherever you go. The design is similar to that of a vape stick but don’t let that put you off because it is in no way a vaping product. As a Mum that’s really important for me I am a role model for my child and wouldn’t use a vape product where my child could see so I was relieved to learn that it isn’t vaping.

How Does the Slissie Work?

The concept behind the Slissie is very clever and unique. The slissie works by replacing a snacking habit and creating a behavioural distraction by providing a burst of flavour which then reduces the urge to snack and can suppress the appetite. It’s not a meal replacement so can be used in conjunction with a healthy diet but is great for times when you feel temptation or you are considering snacking through boredom. My Slissie came with three flavours:

You use the Slissie by sucking similar to how you would use a straw. Each flavour is pleasant with of course Mint Choc being my favourite!

How Did it Work For Me?

I was skeptical I have to be honest. Snacking and eating out of boredom is a huge downfall for me and I have tried everything in the past to try to curb it. I made sure that to test the Slissie fairly I used it intermittently to see the difference when I was using it, compared to when I wasn’t. I was surprised that at times when I was almost talking myself into reaching for snacks if I used the Slissie I did feel strong enough to say no. Perhaps you could say that this is just a placebo effect. Regardless of whether it’s a placebo or not it works and for someone like me this can be a complete game changer when it comes to eating.

If you are someone trying to cut out sugar or you want something to help aid your weight loss then this can really help those moments of willpower loss. I think it’s safe to assume I’ve tried every ‘weight loss’ aid on the market and if I am honest not many of them work, even as a placebo but I can honestly say the Slissie actually worked really well for me!

Have you ever used the Slissie? Do you think this would work for you?
