A Family Day Out At Madame Tussauds Blackpool – (AD)

Madame Tussauds Blackpool

I’ve written recently about how we are trying to really make the most of our weekends as a family. We have a hectic schedule during the week, so it’s essential that we really value our time as a family when we are off work and school. Last weekend we decided to take a trip to Madame Tussauds Blackpool, and we had a wonderful time.

Ollie and I visited Madame Tussauds in London years ago, and we had a really great time. I think it’s such a fun time posing with the figures and seeing the newest additions. We haven’t been since and every time we venture into Blackpool, we always say we should make a visit to Madame Tussauds Blackpool. We were really excited for the kids to see it as it’s a bit magical when you are little.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool

Madame Tussauds Blackpool is located really conveniently across the main Blackpool strip. There is ample parking just behind, and Blackpool has good rail and bus links if you are travelling on public transport. Access to the venue is simple, and the staff were all really helpful and friendly. As you enter, you naturally follow a path around and up, so you don’t have to worry about missing anything. We had the buggy with us, which was slightly more tricky as we had to take the service elevator, but there is a member of staff operating who guides you to exactly where you need to be.

There were many different sections to Madame Tussauds Blackpool all that had there own theme. We went through the Doctor Who display taking a moment to pose with the new Doctor Who wax figure and of course the Tardis from series 11!

Henry was a particular fan of the MARVEL SUPER HEROES section which was really interactive! He got to see the Incredible Hulk and test his strength to see if he could lift a car! He met Thor and had a go at lifting his hammer, and he posed next to Captain Marvel and Groot!

The Sporting Heroes Academy was filled with some real iconic sporting personalities, and it was a great place to pose with some of sports most talented legends!

Personally, I liked heading towards the replica Rovers Return where you could grab a drink and mingle with your favourite Coronation Street residents in wax form – although seeing Daniel Craig as 007 was a close second!

We all had fun posing – even Hugo, who found the whole adventure hysterical. He wasn’t sure what to make of the figures at first, but he soon got into it! It’s such a good day out seeing everyone taking selfies, being playful and posing with their favourites!

Even though it was quite busy, everyone follows a natural stream through the attraction so you can get a lovely photograph and pose with the characters without ruining someone else’s picture or holding anyone up. This was the biggest worry of mine that during peak times you wouldn’t be able to get close to anything but it just naturally works really well, and you don’t feel like you are waiting in a queue.

We had such a good time we will definitely be visiting again. You can buy tickets and find out more information here.

Thank you for stopping by! Check out my last post here.

Love as always!
