It’s hard to believe that summer is well and truly behind us now, and we are full steam ahead for winter and, dare I say it – Christmas! Although I had the most precious summer with my beautiful family, I am looking ahead to the upcoming months. I love autumn and the falling leaves, but winter is the cosiest season of them all. I recently released a ‘Summer Essentials’ blog post, which detailed a few of my favourite items I loved over the summer months. That post was so popular I have recreated it here, featuring all of my winter essentials!

The Pushover by Daney Parker
Suppose you like to spend a cosy winter evening in front of the fire, gripped by a good book. In that case, I’ve got the perfect suggestion: “The Pushover” by Daney Parker is a domestic thriller that delves into the life of Grace, a newspaper reporter residing in a peaceful Surrey town. However, peculiar occurrences start to occur amidst the serene backdrop, potentially tied to an elderly lady named Iris. As Grace investigates the murder of a cyclist, chilling memories of another murder resurface – a murder she seemingly committed… on her wedding day. This narrative takes readers on a suspenseful journey as it unveils four possible victims and how each one pushed Grace to her limits. But the question looms: Which one is the actual victim?
The Orpheus Project – A Novel – Valerie Sinason
If psychological thrillers keep you gripped, then you’ll want to read The Orpheus Project.
“It is Christmas Eve, and a young woman with Down’s syndrome has just disclosed abuse by two men. The problem is she is a member of the British aristocracy, and the men she accuses are a top-ranking politician and a rockstar. This is the world of conspiracy theories. The Orpheus Project and the secret society that surrounds it seek to offer its members immortality through purposefully installed dissociative disorders.”
This is the perfect book for those evenings when the dark nights draw in, and you want nothing more than to be glued under a cosy blanket! Available on Amazon here.
