It’s time for my week three Slimming World update and time to see how things are going. Last week was a good week, and I really felt like I was getting into the swing of things but would this week be more of the same?
Week Three Challenges
Honestly, week three has been filled with many challenges. I think that with any weight loss journey you hit that bump in the road and it’s usually the point where I would give up. This week I have had a lot of things going on, but if I am honest, I really haven’t been looking after myself. A few of the days I realised I didn’t drink any water leaving me with a groggy headache. I definitely think when I am not on top form my will power wavers, and I haven’t stuck to plan much this week.
My mood has been low which a few people have mentioned is probably to do with Blue Monday. I started a new medication for my arthritis, and although it’s helping my joints feel better, it is making me feel a bit ill. Overall I’ve felt really down for no reason in particular, but the housework has suffered, work isn’t getting done, and Slimming World has taken a back seat. It’s not that I have given up, but I certainly haven’t been eating the correct amount of speed food, sometimes not measuring out my Hex A and I’ve occasionally been guessing syn values rather than actually working them out.
Week Three Weigh In
I knew that this week wouldn’t be a significant loss. I really took my foot off the gas, and that will reflect in my result.
Week Three of Slimming World: 1lb Gain
It’s no surprise that I had a small gain this week, and if I’m honest, I expected it to be much higher than that, so I’m a little relieved. I feel as though I’ve let myself down and all of you readers but I think it’s essential, to be honest, and real. This is a journey and some weeks will be highs, and other weeks there will be lows. It’s important what happens next. I could quite easily give up at the first hurdle, or I can come back fighting.
In the past, I would see this as a failure, but instead, I’m seeing it as me being human. So I guess what I’m saying this week is that it’s not always easy and sometimes you hit a bump in the road but don’t be disheartened and certainly don’t give up.
Next Weeks Goal
I’m stepping forward into a new week, and I’m leaving week three well and truly behind me which means I need to focus on getting back on plan and sticking to the routine. The method works but only if you follow it correctly and I would be doing myself an injustice if I wasn’t honest about that. Yes, I gained this week, but I know why and it’s easily rectifiable. I can see a clear pattern in how my habits are impacted by my mood, so that is the first place to start. Right now I need to work on feeling better emotionally and then the weight loss will follow. I also need to take care of myself and make sure I’m drinking enough.
Next weeks goal isn’t a number on the scales it’s to feel better and to stick to plan. If I manage both of those whether I lose or gain won’t matter. This is a long game – a lifestyle change and I need to remember that.

Sounds like you have had a roller coaster week love and a 1lb gain is absolutely nothing. Boost your water intake and you will wash that out easily! Take time out for you this weekend and start next week afresh with a clear head. You can do this! You are rocking it and you have to take the rough with the smooth. I still haven’t learned from staging on the scales every day. Super frustrating, weight does fluctuate but it’s a journey that unfortunately doesn’t travel in a straight line. Sim xx
