Does anybody else find buying for adults at Christmas much harder than anybody else? For children, there is an absolute abundance, but I lose inspiration when it comes to the adults in my life. If like me you are in the same boat I have put together a few suggestions that may help.
Gifts for at Home or to Spoil
It’s always nice to consider items that can be used in the home after all it’s the place we often spend the most time. Jim Shore Figurines make wonderful gifts that will be cherished for years to come. Whether you are buying someone their first Jim Shore piece or you are adding to a fans existing collection this is a gift that will be well received. As a huge Lilo & Stitch fan, of course, I would always go for one of the Stitch figures but there is literally something for everyone with their range covering Disney, The Wizard of Oz and DC Comics to name a few! The only question is – which one will you choose?
A candle from Willow & Finn makes a great gift – especially their Christmas scents! All the Willow & Finn candles are hand-poured using ethically sourced soy wax. Being eco-friendly is important to them and all their packaging is recyclable. The essential oils they use are pure and they don’t have any parabens or phalates. Above all else, they look beautiful on display, burn evenly and smell incredible!! Be sure to try out my Christmas faves: Christmas Eve and Mrs Claus’ Bakery.
If you are looking to gift something special then Lace & Favour have an exceptional selection of jewellery to consider. Their pieces are stunning, delicate and sure to put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas. They have a selection of gorgeous earrings, bracelets, necklaces and the most stunning wedding veils to choose from. Many of their items would be suitable for evening use or as a special wedding day piece! If you know someone getting married in the new year then this could be the perfect place to shop!
Over the past year, there has been a cleaning craze with the likes of Mrs Hinch and other cleaning influencers getting people excited over their daily chores. It’s all about making cleaning fun and taking out the hard work. One way to do just that is with the Gtech HyLite. This cordless vacuum cleaner is only 1.5kg and has a runtime of around 20 minutes. Suitable for both upright and handheld use it takes the effort out of vacuuming the stairs. The best feature for me is the fact it’s so compact and easy to store. There is no need to dedicate a whole cupboard or corner of the room yet the handle extends to full size, so you don’t have to break your back either!
I have spoken about Lolita glasses so much on the blog over the past year. I often recommend these gorgeous glasses when it comes to special occasions because I think they make really beautiful gifts that become quite addictive to collect. Each glass is hand-painted and decorated, making them all individual and unique, just like the recipient. On the base of the glass is a secret cocktail recipe which also adds a fun twist! Their range is so extensive and includes festive additions so there is bound to be the perfect glass for the perfect person!
If you are buying for an adult that also loves Dr Who then this Dr Who Espresso Boxed Set will be a well-received gift this Christmas. This officially licensed BBC merchandise set includes four porcelain espresso cups with matching saucers. Each cup features an iconic Dr Who image on a coloured background, making them perfect for having out on display. They are also dishwasher safe and come packaged in a Tardis presentation box. Available from *Amazon RRP £14.99.
Gifts for on the Go
If you know somebody who is always on the go then these suggestions might be the perfect solution.
One of my favourite brands for sustainable products is Huski Home. They have many lovely products such as coconut bowls and natural grass straws. Still, I think I love their Sustainable Rice Husk Travel Cups the most. They are melamine and formaldehyde-free and can keep drinks hot or cold for up to 90 minutes.
Speaking of sustainable, it’s crucial that we are all conscious of our single-use plastic waste. Gifts that can help people with this are always well received. I love this Red Original Insulated Steel Water Bottle made from marine grade stainless steel. It’s 100 BPA free, won’t corrode and it keeps beverages cold for up to 24hrs and hot for up to 12hrs!
The perfect gift for anyone spending time outside this winter is a Zippo HeatBank. Zippo are known for their windproof lighters, but now they have a range of hand warmers. This rechargeable hand warmer not only keeps your hands warm, but it will keep your devices powered too. Available with 3-hour or 6-hour runtimes and fully rechargeable they are a must-have accessory this winter.
A practical gift is often a great idea for someone on the go. If practical is what you are looking for, then the *Targus Geolite Advanced backpack could be precisely what you need. This minimalist design is lightweight and weather resistant while also providing plenty of storage space. Perfect for the daily commute it will comfortably and safely hold a laptop up to 15.6in in size.
Gifts to Support Hobbies & Health
Do you know someone that likes a good pub quiz? Maybe their hobby is being a quiz whizz. Then the perfect Christmas gift has to be one of the Pub Quiz Books from Carlton Books. Perfect for anyone wanting to host their own quiz or just someone wanting to brush up on their knowledge. There are a few books in the range, but The General Knowledge book is a great place to start with 10,000 questions keen quiz takers will be entertained for hours. In the modern world, there is much emphasis on mindfulness and self-care. Looking after our mental health is extremely important, especially as the world today seems much faster paced and filled with more stress. Many people turn to meditation or yoga for that mind balance, but let’s face it that kind of still practice isn’t for everyone. Abbie Headon’s book – *Build Yourself Happy: The Joy of LEGO Play is a great way to incorporate mindfulness and relax without a yoga mat in sight. There are more than 50 mindful LEGO building activities that can help boost your mind and wellbeing, making it the ideal book for anyone wanting to slow down.
If you are looking for a gift for a gaming fan, then this Assassin’s Creed Ezio Cable Guy would make a fantastic gift. Ezio is a nobleman and assassin from the iconic Assassin’s Creed. This figurine is approximately 20cm tall and can hold a mobile phone or games controller. It comes with a 2m charging cable so it can charge while on display! Available from Menkind RRP £25.
Neeta Oza’s Mini A-Z Guides are the perfect stocking filler this Christmas. There are four to choose from and cover fitness, business, mindset and self-care. These books are easy to read and are jam-packed with easy to absorb information that will have you motivated and positive. Neeta uses a combination of tips, ideas and quotes all broken up into bitesize doses. These books are perfect for taking with you on the go or keeping in a drawer at work for when you need a pep talk! Available from Amazon RRP £5.99 each:
If you know someone that would benefit from some positive guidance and inspiration to push themselves harder, then this book would make the perfect stocking filler. This is the ideal book for anyone stuck in a rut or lacking the confidence to ‘be heard.’ The Rule Breaker’s Guide to Step Up & Stand Out features an abundance of witty insights and inspiring advice that is simply a pleasure to read. One of my favourite items this Christmas has to be the HoMedics STRETCH MAT XS. You simply lay down, and the mat takes your body gently through a series of stretches and twists inspired by yoga. It’s a great way to unwind and relax after a hectic day while also improving flexibility. It’s compact when folded so can be taken with you to work or when travelling and is easy to store. Available on *Amazon RRP£229.00.
The perfect gift for someone that wants to be more mindful and slow down a little but is a little overwhelmed by the journey is the book Making Happy Work. Split into eight parts this book takes you through a step by step meditation journey that you can easily incorporate in your day to day life. In a world where we have become disconnected with who we are you can take time to pause and reconnect with this easy to follow guide. Available from *Amazon RRP £9.99.
This next book comes with a huge recommendation from me. Finding a Balanced Connection is a practical guide book helping you work towards feeling like you have purpose, joy and contentment in your life. I’ve written before about feeling like I could and should be enjoying life more than I am, and that isn’t a feeling isolated within just me. In fact, it’s more common than ever amongst adults, and this book can help work towards eradicating those feelings so you can go on to live the life you deserve. Available from *Amazon RRP £12.99.
Another must-read this year is written by mind and body expert Susan Scott. Life Force: The Revolutionary 7-Step Plan For Optimum Energy is a hands-on read filled with helpful questions and activities. This book will show you how to stop feeling tired all of the time, improve mood and sleep better. The perfect way to start out the new year. Available from *Amazon RRP £12.49.
I hope these suggestions helped give you a bit of inspiration for the adults in your life this Christmas. If you have any other suggestions I would love to hear them!
