When it comes to buying Christmas gifts for babies and toddlers, it can be quite tricky. In an attempt to help, I have put together a selection of my favourite items that I hope will inspire you.
Items to Use
I always think items that will be used are a great gift idea for anyone to be honest but especially babies and children. Things that will come in handy from day to day and that are useful make an excellent gift in my opinion.
Regular readers will know that when I had my youngest son Hugo, we used the Chicco Next2Me, which was one of the best baby items I had this time around. I am a big Chicco fan, and I think their products are practical, built to last and pleasing to look at. A perfect Christmas gift from them comes in the form of their Next2Moon Projector. This is a 3in1 projector, and it can be attached to the cot with the canopy, with the canopy removed altogether or on a bedside table. Calming music plays while a colourful display is projected onto either the canopy if attached or the ceiling of the room. Available in blue, pink or neutral from *Amazon RRP £29.99.
I am a big fan of the Beatrix Potter Gifts by Enesco, and I have featured their items many times before. I am particularly impressed with their bamboo dinner sets and tableware. They have a selection of plates, bowls and cups that can be purchased separately all featuring the gorgeous Peter Rabbit designs. They also have a this cute Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit bamboo Christmas dinner set which would make a lovely gift. The set includes a plate, bowl, cup and cutlery all made from dishwasher safe bamboo.
Another beneficial gift, especially for any baby that is starting or currently baby-led weaning is a Bibetta Bib. Bibetta is another brand I have consistently featured because their products are one of the best. The UltraBib is one of my favourites as it has a pelican-style pocket that folds out to catch food. Its neoprene material makes it soft and flexible, so it’s comfortable to wear. The outside layer is absorbent, and the inner layer is waterproof, so even if your baby has a spill, it won’t soak through to their clothes! Even better you can chuck it in both the washer machine and drier to reuse again and again! They have a whole selection of cute designs, so they are well worth checking out!
A lovely gift for babies would be the Baby To Love Musical Night Light Turtle. This cute little turtle plays soothing tunes to help lull your little one to sleep. It has a timer function so gradually turns itself off. The battery lasts around 10 hours and can be recharged by placing the turtle on the recharging base that is included. The nightlight has three colours and is LED, which means there is no risk of it getting hot.
Items to Play With
For children that are walking or learning to walk the Hape Bunny Push Pal is a fantastic gift. As the bunny is pushed forward, it jumps up and down like a real-life bunny! This wooden toy is perfect for making walking more fun! Suitable for ages 12 months+.
Another brilliant Hape toy is the Five-In-One Music Station. This multi-instrument table will keep little ones busy for hours! It includes a drum, xylophone, scratchboard, cymbal, clapper and two drumsticks. Everything is the perfect size for a little one to make their very own music. This is an ideal toy to introduce and explore new sounds.

Many children fall in love with the lovely Bing! Henry, my eldest, was obsessed at one point, and now Hugo is following down the same path. If you are buying for a Bing fan this Christmas then this cute Talking Bing soft toy is a must-have! It’s soft and cuddly making it perfect for squishy hugs, but it also has 15 Bing phrases that are sure to keep those little Bing fans entertained. Press the button to hear Bing talk and come alive. Books make great gifts for young children and reading together is an essential part of their development. There is an abundance of books out there from classics to unique originals. Personally, I love a book with a strong positive message, and Who Do I See in the Mirror? Is all of that wrapped in a bow. This is a diverse book about genuinely loving the skin you are in – a message young children should hear! If that isn’t reason enough to love this book for every book sold Philly & Friends give a book to an underprivileged child! Available from *Amazon RRP £10.
I have featured products from Rex London in the past, and their vast selection means there is an abundance of gifts to choose from. When it comes to babies and toddlers, I love the Charlie the Lion Classic Wooden Xylophone. It comes with two wooden drumsticks and a songbook filled with nursery rhymes. This is a lovely gift to introduce music and colours and will help develop hand-eye coordination.
For Dear Zoo fans these puzzle blocks are must-have! The four solid blocks feature six beautiful Dear Zoo illustrations that can be made by rotating the blocks in the tray.
